No doubt there are plenty of specialist sites but whatever else you find remember that with a little bit of time and effort vistaprint.com products can be adapted for many purposes and are very reasonable.

Not finding anything I liked, I created my own entire invitation packet with all color inserts.

I designed my own invitation with various photo editing software: put our invitation wording over a photo of a hydrangea (in microsoft picture it), used powerpoint to put two to a page, took it to Kinko’s and they assisted in the spacing a bit and cut the 8.5×11 sheets in half horizontally so I had pretty standard sized invitations. (even if you have a single design they can create the two to a page in adobe – make them help you) The glossy paper was 1.50 a sheet but you got two invites out of each page.

I also designed an insert with pictures of the event center and hotel, addresses for both, directions, and the info about the block of rooms at the hotel for the guests. Same was done with these for sizing, two to a page. Color copy was around 80 odd cents a page.

Finally, I did RSVP postcards on zazzle.com, as well as customized postage.

I had to luck into finding envelopes separately.

I ended up spending more than I had wanted considering a lot of people probably throw away the invitations, but I got exactly what I wanted, and everyone was impressed, it was unusual. Maybe more of them will keep these due to all the pretty hydrangea pictures (our flower & theme).

They say the invitation is the guests’ first glimpse into your event.
