is it tacky to wear name tags at a wedding rehearsal dinner?

its all family – except for the wedding party!
It’s quite strange. If it’s all family, why is it necessary? People don’t necessarily like wearing them expecially in their nice clothes.
No, but I would NEVER wear one, it is sort of kindergartenish!
It isn’t tacky, but I wouldn’t do it. First off, people take care with their clothing for something like this. A sticky sign really ruins their outfit. It is the job of the couple and wedding party to make sure people mingle and have met others.
Well..l really think it is tacky and very impersonal.
Yes. Use name cards in front of their place settings instead.
Maybe a bit tacky but it’s an easy way of remembering names without the awkward ‘gee I know the face but I’ve forgotten your name again’ questions. You might ask people to say ‘I’m John’ etc before they speak to others until people get to know each other. Sounds a bit corny but might help break the ice a little. Perhaps give them a choice. It’s either the introduction or write their name in crayon on their forehead. I know which one I’d choose.
